Daily Care

Stainless Steel and Titanium
• Light surface marks may develop over time with normal wear.

Bold, technical and full of sporting energy, the Junghans Meister Chronoscope (ref. 27/4429.47) gives the classic Meister automatic chronograph a thoroughly modern edge. A matt dark grey effect-lacquer dial sets the stage for yellow-lacquered counter hands, while an applied 12 o'clock marker and diamond-effect hour and minute hands, all with white luminous substance, keep it clear in any light.
On the wrist it feels solid and sure, thanks to a matt and polished stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp that flows from the polished 40.7mm stainless steel case. Inside, the self-winding J880.1 caliber runs the stop function with 30-minute and 12-hour counters, holding up to 48 hours of power reserve while the chronograph is idle, and the date and an English weekday display add day-to-day convenience. A domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a five-screw case back with mineral crystal and 5 bar water resistance make this German chronograph ready to be worn every day.

Timepiece History
Junghans was founded on April 14, 1861, in Schramberg in Germany's Black Forest, when Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law, Jakob Zeller-Tobler, set up a firm making parts for large Black Forest clocks; the first complete Junghans clocks followed in 1866. By 1903, Junghans had grown into the largest clock manufacturer in the world, and in 1918 it completed its nine-level terrace building, the Terrassenbau, which today houses the Junghans Terrassenbau Museum. Owned by the Steim family since 2009, Junghans remains based in Schramberg today.
Meister has been part of Junghans since 1936, when the collection launched on the strength of the movements Junghans had begun producing itself in the 1930s. In the heyday of the mechanical wristwatch, Junghans developed many calibers in Schramberg and reserved the finest for Meister. Junghans ranked among the largest chronometer makers in the world in 1956 and introduced the J83, its first automatic chronometer caliber, in 1957. This Meister Chronoscope gives that nearly century-long tradition of reliable timekeeping a sportier voice, while keeping the bowl-shaped subdials typical of the range.
