Accutron Elevation - 26A219

If you appreciate a watch that's as clever as it is good-looking, the Accutron Elevation was made with you in mind. Inside is the NM33, Accutron's in-house resonator. Where a conventional quartz watch relies on a two-prong crystal vibrating at roughly 32 kHz, the NM33 uses a three-prong tuning fork that vibrates at 262 kHz, about eight times as fast. That higher frequency is a big part of why Accutron rates the Elevation's accuracy in seconds per year, while most quartz watches are measured in seconds per month.

On the wrist, the 39mm asymmetrical case is crafted from 904L stainless steel, with vertical brushing broken up by polished accents, yet it stays a slim 11.2mm. The warm gray dial has real depth, with a honeycomb texture around a brushed center and a blue chapter ring that adds a subtle pop of color, while skeletonized hands and luminescent markers keep it easy to read day or night. A full-grain brown Italian leather strap brings a warm contrast to the dial, and the watch is splash resistant, so rain or washing your hands is no problem, but it's best to take it off before swimming or showering.

Features

  • In-House NM33 Precisionist Resonator – A three-prong tuning fork vibrating at 262 kHz, about eight times the frequency of standard quartz.
  • Accuracy Within Seconds per Year – High-frequency precision measured in seconds per year.
  • Asymmetrical Bi-Finished Case – A 39mm 904L stainless steel case with vertical brushing and polished accents.
  • Warm Gray Honeycomb Dial – A honeycomb texture contrasting a brushed center, framed by a blue chapter ring.
  • Skeletonized Hands & Luminescent Markers – Open-worked hands and glowing markers for clear legibility.

Timepiece History

Bulova introduced the Accutron in 1960, the first watch to replace the traditional balance wheel with a battery-powered tuning fork vibrating 360 times per second. Its precision made it the first wristwatch accurate enough for official U.S. railroad use.

In 2010, Bulova, working with its parent company Citizen, introduced the Precisionist, a quartz platform that added a third prong to the standard two-prong quartz crystal and ran at eight times the frequency of a traditional quartz watch. At its launch, the Precisionist claimed accuracy of about 10 seconds a year, compared with about 15 seconds a month for most quartz watches.

The Elevation debuted in Accutron's Fall/Winter 2026 collection with the NM33 Precisionist, an in-house resonator built around a three-prong tuning fork vibrating at 262 kHz. Accutron's resonator movement debuted in that same collection, where it also powers the Memphis 521.
