Frederique Constant Classics Moneta Moonphase - FC-206S3S5

Warm, polished and quietly radiant, the Frederique Constant Classics Moneta Moonphase (ref. FC-206S3S5) is a Swiss quartz moonphase watch that wears its inspiration right on its edge. The Moneta gets its name from the fluting that circles the dial, a detail modeled on the milled rim of a coin that catches the light each time you move your wrist. Here it frames a 37mm round case in stainless steel finished with yellow gold PVD, kept slim at just 7.65mm so it slips easily under a shirt cuff. Inside that golden frame, a silver-toned sunray dial is set with yellow gold dauphine hands and applied hour markers, and a moon phase display at 6 o'clock adds a touch of romance to everyday timekeeping.

Behind the dial, the Swiss-made FC-206 quartz movement keeps the hours, minutes and lunar cycle on track with accuracy to within about 15 seconds a month, and its battery is designed to run for roughly five years, so the Moneta is always ready when you are. A convex anti-reflective sapphire crystal keeps the sunray dial bright and legible while standing up to knocks, and water resistance of 50 meters covers still-water swimming. The look is finished with a dark brown calfskin strap embossed with a crocodile pattern and fastened with a classic pin buckle. It's a graceful, easy-to-wear way to bring Swiss watchmaking into your daily routine, and a gift that feels genuinely special.

Features

  • Coin-Inspired Fluted Flange – the Moneta's signature fluting echoes the milled edge of a coin and frames the dial with texture and light.
  • Moon Phase at 6 O'Clock – follows the lunar cycle on a silver-toned sunray dial for a poetic, classic complication.
  • Yellow Gold PVD Case – 37mm polished stainless steel with a yellow gold PVD finish and a slim 7.65mm profile.
  • Swiss FC-206 Quartz Movement – accurate to about 15 seconds a month with a battery life of roughly five years.
  • Convex Anti-Reflective Sapphire Crystal – impact and shatter resistant, with a coating that cuts glare for clear reading.

Timepiece History

Frederique Constant was founded in 1988 by Aletta and Peter Stas, an entrepreneurial couple who shared a passion for watchmaking. Headquartered in Geneva, Frederique Constant has long aimed to make high-end Swiss-made watches available at more accessible prices. In 2004, it joined the ranks of Swiss watchmakers that develop and produce their own in-house calibers, and today its Manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, designs, develops and assembles more than 30 in-house calibers, including tourbillon, perpetual calendar and flyback chronograph complications. Frederique Constant celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2023.

The Moneta Moonphase belongs to Frederique Constant's Classics collection, home to its clean-lined, timeless designs and its long-standing aim of keeping Swiss luxury within reach. The Moneta name comes from the fluted flange around the dial, styled after the milled edge of a coin, and the line pairs that detail with a fine sunray dial, a moon phase display and a Swiss quartz movement, offering traditional watchmaking finishes at a more accessible price.
