• Wipe the case and bracelet with a soft microfiber cloth after wear to remove oils, dust, and fingerprints.
• Use a soft cloth lightly dampened with water and mild soap for occasional cleaning.
• Dry the watch thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth.
• Avoid bleach, chlorine, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and household cleaning products.
• Do not use polishing compounds unless specifically recommended by the watch manufacturer.
• Light surface marks may develop over time with normal wear.
• Titanium can show cosmetic marks differently than stainless steel because of its lighter weight and surface characteristics.
• Always follow the water resistance rating listed by the manufacturer for your specific watch.
• Water resistance is not permanent and can decrease over time as seals and gaskets age.
• Make sure the crown is fully pushed in or screwed down before water exposure.
• Do not operate the crown, pushers, or other controls while the watch is underwater unless the manufacturer specifically states that it is safe to do so.
• Avoid hot tubs, saunas, and very hot showers, as heat and rapid temperature changes can affect the watch seals.
• Have the water resistance checked periodically, especially after battery replacement, case opening, or service.
• Store your watch in a clean, dry place when not in use.
• Keep it separated from other jewelry or watches to help prevent scratches.

Built with aviation in its blood, the Junghans Pilot Chronoscope (ref. 27/3493.00) is an automatic pilot chronograph designed for clarity at a glance. Its domed dial in matt dark grey effect lacquer carries historical Junghans lettering, with hour numerals and a minute track in beige luminous substance, beige-lacquered counters and polished hands for a look that is both vintage and purposeful.
A bi-directional turning bezel with a luminous dot is shaped for a sure grip, framing a polished 43.3mm stainless steel case that is water resistant to 10 bar. Inside, the self-winding J880.3 caliber drives the stop function, 30-minute counter and small seconds, with up to 42 hours of power reserve when the chronograph is not running. A stainless steel case back with an "Aviation" engraving is held by seven screws, a domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal guards the dial, and a brown and black leather strap with vintage-style riveting and a stainless steel buckle completes this German pilot's watch.
Junghans was founded on April 14, 1861, in Schramberg in Germany's Black Forest, when Erhard Junghans and his brother-in-law, Jakob Zeller-Tobler, set up a firm making parts for large Black Forest clocks; the first complete Junghans clocks followed in 1866. By 1903, Junghans had grown into the largest clock manufacturer in the world, and in 1918 it completed its nine-level terrace building, the Terrassenbau, which today houses the Junghans Terrassenbau Museum. Owned by the Steim family since 2009, Junghans remains based in Schramberg today.
Junghans has engineered watches for pilots for more than 100 years, including for the German Imperial Army Air Service, for the Zeppelin airships and for the German Air Force as its first service watch. In 1917 a Junghans on-board clock flew on an airship that set an altitude record of 7,600 meters, and in the 1930s Junghans made control-panel instruments and on-board clocks for aircraft and airships. In the 1950s it designed the J88/0111 pilot chronograph for the German Armed Forces, known for its turning bezel, and the Pilot Chronoscope carries that aviation story forward today.
