Seiko Prospex "Pepsi Turtle" PADI Special Edition Automatic Diver - SRPE99

Vibrant and full of seaside energy, the Seiko Prospex PADI Special Edition Automatic Diver (ref. SRPE99) sets a bold blue dial inside a red and blue unidirectional elapsed-time bezel inspired by signature PADI colors. Created as part of Seiko's partnership with PADI, it brings a bright, sporty personality to a rugged 45mm stainless steel case based on a celebrated Seiko case design. LumiBrite on the hands, indexes and bezel keeps every reading easy in low light, and a day/date display rounds out the dial.

Seiko's caliber 4R36 automatic movement provides 24 jewels, 21,600 vibrations per hour and approximately 41 hours of power reserve, along with the option to wind it by hand. A Hardlex crystal covers the dial, and the case is sealed with a screw-down crown and screw case back for 200 meters of diver's water resistance. A stainless steel bracelet with a three-fold push-button clasp, secure lock and extender finishes this colorful diver beautifully, making it an easy choice for anyone who loves the water.

Timepiece History

Seiko's story began in 1881, when a 21-year-old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. The first watch to carry the Seiko name followed in 1924, and Seiko went on to introduce a long line of watchmaking firsts, including the Quartz Astron, the world's first quartz wristwatch, on December 25, 1969. In 2024, Seiko celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Seiko brand.

The SRPE99 belongs to the Prospex Sea line, a diver's watch lineage that traces back to 1965, when Seiko introduced Japan's first diver's watch, a self-winding model water resistant to 150 meters that was used on the 8th Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition in 1966. In 1975, Seiko's Professional Diver's 600M became the world's first diver's watch with a titanium case, and Seiko has continued to engineer its divers around the demands of real underwater conditions. The SRPE99 adds the red and blue of Seiko's PADI partnership to that heritage, on a 45mm case rated for 200 meters of diver's water resistance.
