Seiko Essentials Collection - SUR558

Finished in handsome two-tone stainless steel, the Seiko Essentials (ref. SUR558) is a men's watch that balances warmth and brightness with real poise. A white pressed-pattern dial forms a crisp backdrop for gold stick indices, and the date window sits neatly within the minimal layout. The case and bracelet are shaped with sleek, angled lines, giving the design a contemporary sharpness that pairs as well with a blazer as with weekend wear.

At its heart is Seiko's caliber 6N52 quartz movement, housed in a 39mm case that stays slim at 8.5mm. LumiBrite hands and markers glow for easy reading in dim light, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the dial. A screw-down case back helps deliver 100 meters of water resistance, and the two-tone bracelet fastens with a tri-fold push-button clasp for a neat, refined look.

Features

  • Two-tone finish – a two-tone treatment across the stainless steel case and bracelet.
  • White pressed-pattern dial – set with gold stick indices and a date window.
  • Caliber 6N52 quartz – drives the time and date in a slim 8.5mm case.
  • LumiBrite hands and markers – glow for clear reading in low light.
  • 100m water resistance – with a screw-down case back and a sapphire crystal.

Timepiece History

Seiko's story began in 1881, when a 21-year-old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. The first watch to carry the Seiko name followed in 1924, and Seiko went on to introduce a long line of watchmaking firsts, including the Quartz Astron, the world's first quartz wristwatch, on December 25, 1969. In 2024, Seiko celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Seiko brand.

The SUR558 is part of Seiko Essentials, a collection that pairs classic and contemporary design with dependable performance, made to keep you stylish and on time on any occasion.
