Seiko Essentials Collection - SUR355

Crisp, capable and handsomely understated, the Seiko Essentials (ref. SUR355) is a men's quartz watch that moves easily between workday wear and dressier evenings. Its black sunray dial pairs a day/date calendar with LumiBrite on the hands and markers, so the details that matter are always clear at a glance. Crafted in stainless steel at 39.6mm, the watch mixes polished and brushed finishes for a look that feels both sporty and refined.

Seiko's caliber 6N43 quartz movement runs the time and day/date display inside a case just 8.8mm thick. A screw-down case back accompanies 10 bar, 100 meters of water resistance, and a Hardlex crystal protects the dial. Finished on a matching stainless steel bracelet, it is a classic dress/sport watch that suits almost any wardrobe.

Features

  • Black sunray dial – a classic, light-catching face with a day/date calendar.
  • Polished and brushed steel – contrasting finishes across the 39.6mm stainless steel watch.

  • Screw-down case back – paired with 10 bar, 100 meters of water resistance.
  • Caliber 6N43 quartz – drives the day/date display in an 8.8mm case.

Timepiece History

Seiko's story began in 1881, when a 21-year-old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. The first watch to carry the Seiko name followed in 1924, and Seiko went on to introduce a long line of watchmaking firsts, including the Quartz Astron, the world's first quartz wristwatch, on December 25, 1969. In 2024, Seiko celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Seiko brand.

The SUR355 is part of Seiko Essentials, a collection that pairs classic and contemporary design with dependable performance, made to keep you stylish and on time on any occasion.
