Seiko Prospex "Land Tortoise" - SRPG13

Earthy, outdoorsy and full of character, the Seiko Prospex Land automatic (ref. SRPG13) pairs a beige dial with an olive and black rotating bezel bearing compass markings, finished on an olive green polyester strap. The 42.4mm stainless steel case measures 11.7mm thick, and LumiBrite on the hands and indexes keeps the time visible after sundown. A date window adds a practical touch to the clean, outdoor-ready layout.

Seiko's caliber 4R35 automatic movement drives the watch with 23 jewels and approximately 41 hours of power reserve, and it can be wound by hand too. A sapphire crystal protects the dial, while a screw-down crown and screw case back help deliver 20 bar of water resistance. At 87 grams on its polyester strap, it is a relaxed companion for hikes, weekends away and everyday errands.

Timepiece History

Seiko's story began in 1881, when a 21-year-old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. The first watch to carry the Seiko name followed in 1924, and Seiko went on to introduce a long line of watchmaking firsts, including the Quartz Astron, the world's first quartz wristwatch, on December 25, 1969. In 2024, Seiko celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Seiko brand.

The SRPG13 is part of Prospex, Seiko's collection for sports lovers and adventure seekers in the water, in the sky and on land. Seiko's sports watch story began with the Laurel Alpinist of 1959, built for mountain climbers and field sports enthusiasts, and continued in 1965 with Japan's first diver's watch. Since then, Seiko's innovative technology has changed global standards for diver's watches.
